Third Act Of Extreme Sailing

The third Act of the Extreme Sailing Series came to an end in Madeira Islands but there are more Acts to look forward to. This format of sailing is fast paced which makes it risky and challenging for the participants, but a great show for the fans to witness.

The third act saw the SAP team hold their forte in the first position while Alinghi still leads in the overall scoreboard this season so far. They however finished in the second position while the Oman Air team finished in the third position. The series will now move to the fourth Act that will be held in less than three weeks in conjunction with Yacht Charter Dubrovnik. (more…)

Ainslie Disappointed But Took Lesson

The first shot of Ainslie at achieving the America’s Cup ended on Thursday, when a team New Zealand, beat his crew Land Rover BAR in the semi-final match of the America’s Cup challenger 35th series in Bermuda. New Zealand is one of the four countries who have won the America’s cup.

After the race Ainslie gets face to face with the media and shared his view. He said “Before the beginning of the race, we were aware that the match is going to be tough. And, ultimately we weren’t managed to catch up in time with the existing teams”.

Ainslie is one of the most successful Olympian of sailing and he is not used to losing the match. With team Oracle USA, he has won a cup as tactician and there is a huge list of his winning. This is the reason; this loss of Ainslie is really a big disappointment for him.

It is not like the loss is a disappointment only for Ainslie, but it hurt all the team members equally. From the very beginning of the tournament, the team was hopeful that, it will win the match and if winning does not come, then they will try their best to at least have a good performance.

Another team member of the Land Rover Bar said the defeat is not easy to forget. We tried well, but at the end of the race, our effort did not turn up enough to beat the New Zealand team and thus we lost the race. A good sailor always takes experience from his past and tries to correct the mistake that was made in the future. We will also do the same, learn from this loss and will try to improve your sailing skills.
